THIS YEARS REUNION WAS HELD IN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS 2025.
GREAT REUNION AND THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ATTENDED. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR IN VIRGINIA.
Several of us arrived Tuesday evening to kick off our reunion with a little extra vacation time. On Wednesday, we enjoyed the Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley Tour, which gave us a narrated 90-minute overview of the city’s landmarks. It was the perfect way to get our bearings—and with the flexibility to hop off and explore, we made the most of it!
That evening, we met with James and Nancy Damron, our local San Antonio family, for dinner at the lively Rainforest Café on the River Walk. The meal was fun, the company even better—and yes, the Volcano dessert was a hit!
Thursday started with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before a walking tour of the area. Later, we took the trolley to Hopscotch, explored a three-story antique mall, and visited LegoLand and the Aquarium—a big hit with the kids. That evening, as more family arrived, we gathered for a delicious meal at the historic Crockett Tavern, where many of us tried elk, bison, and wagyu burgers. Outstanding!
On Friday morning, we toured The Alamo, its church, and museum—featuring Phil Collins’ impressive donated collection of Alamo artifacts. That afternoon, Peter Baron, president of the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society (SAGHS), generously opened the Society’s doors for us to do research—what a treasure trove of information!
Friday night, all 21 of us reunited once again at the Crockett Tavern for a wonderful dinner and great conversation with our Dameron-Damron family.
On Saturday, we held our official reunion gathering in the Patio Room of the Menger Hotel at 11 a.m. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, prize drawings, and informative presentations:
Ella Taylor, from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), gave an inspiring talk. (Contact info: Tayl8497@gmail.com)
Jo Lasaweki, also a DAR member, and Peter Baron, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), shared valuable insights.
Donna Carter presented on DNA research, with input from Peter Baron. (Contact/info: Donnacarter75960@aol.com)
After the meeting, we continued to enjoy each other’s company in the lobby, while the younger crowd headed back to Hopscotch and took in a live show on the River Walk.
All in all, it was a fantastic reunion filled with fun, learning, and family connections. If we ever return to Texas, the Menger Hotel will definitely be our top choice again.
With gratitude and warm memories,
